1948: The Rat – German Land Battleship for d20 Modern

Among Germany's first generation of super weapons, the Rat is unlike anything the Allies have ever faced. Armed with two 11-inch cannons, several anti-aircraft guns, a short-range artillery cannon, and a .60 caliber machine gun, the Rat is a battleship that cruises the land. Like a mobile fortress, it carries more than 40 men — including a permanently embarked commando team and a medical officer — and serves as both a communication hub and a long-range artillery weapon for German battle groups.

A Fortress on Treads

Similar to a submarine in its internal complexity, the Rat has a command deck, a sick bay, a brig, an engine room, and more than 10 other compartments for storing ammunition, food, medical supplies, and even motorcycles. It helped turn the tide of the war in 1945, and in 1948 it remains one of the most terrifying weapons on the European battlefield.
