Betrayal & the Badge is a true story of betrayal by a law enforcement agency. Unwilling to allow a fair review process, a 29-year veteran and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department lieutenant was not allowed to tell her side of the story, following lies and a fabricated administrative investigation. Using fabricated, "anonymous" complaints, her supervisor gathered "witnesses," who each had an ax to grind with the lieutenant and sought to enact revenge. The icing on the cake was the puppet string pulled behind the scenes by a bitter man holding a 17-year grudge, who would be elected to the top seat within the organization. His racist statements, documents left on a copy machine, and mistreatment of the lieutenant and her husband would only lead to a platform from which the lieutenant rose to even greater heights.
