Deltec NFP Nitrate Filters

Hand built in Germany the Deltec NFP90 Nitrate Filter is a simple and efficient way of
reducing the nitrate level in your aquarium.

This reactor uses alcohol as a carbon source to fuel the bacteria that convert nitrate to
nitrogen gas via a reduction process. The included internal re-circulation pump combined with the special woven media allows even water flow inside the reactor for maximum efficiency and prevent dead spots that could become anoxic.

Once established these filters are very effective and robust in their ability to remove nitrate from the water and can be operated in manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic modes with the use of addition of peristaltic pumps and a redox controller.

A separate pump, not included, is needed to feed water through the reactor at a slow rate. Although it is possible to supply water to these reactors by taking a feed from a return pump or external filter etc. it is best to use a dedicated peristaltic pump capable of constant running. The alcohol based food can be added manually using a syringe or automatically by dosing pump.

The Deltec NFP reactors have a purposefully large outlet pipe to ensure good flow from the reactor and to prevent blockages that could restrict water flow. The units are pressurised so can be run externally or partly submerged in a sump, the outlet of the reactor however should ideally be positioned so that it is not going uphill allowing water to escape freely.

Simple to use and maintain the NFP reactors feature twist off bayonet lid to allow easy tool free access and unions on the internal circulation pump for easy removal during
maintenance.

Should you need to re-purpose the reactor over time Deltec have made the components of their latest reactor ranges universal to allow for the NFP reactor to be easily converted to a PF Calcium Reactor or FR fluidised reactor using additional components, available separately.
