Detour uses polarized PC (polycarbonate) lenses on the Breach line. This lens material is injected around the polarized filter to prevent the layers from separating, which can happen in humid, high-temperature conditions or if you store sunglasses in your car. For fishing and other wet environments, the salt resistant lens coating adds a barrier to protect against salt particles to help extend lens life. The hydrophobic coating helps repel water so your vision stays clear and you don’t have to wipe lenses as often—also reducing the need to rub saltwater (and tiny salt particles) into your lenses.
