Known both as Roosevelt Elk and Olympic Elk, since the largest unmanned herd resides in Olympic National Park in Washington State, this magnificent bull will surely be the king of the rut this season. One of the largest land mammals in North America, the artists at Herend have honored this majestic animal simply by highlighting its already impressive features. The brilliant sheen of 24K gold seems to bounce off every point of his imposing antlers. Then, only an ombre fishnet painting style could properly capture the elk's signature camouflage coat which starts dark brown at the head becomes paler on the body, and ends with a distinctive light-colored rump (which is why elk are also called "wapiti" which is Shawnee for "white rump").
