Our 50 count wax worms are plump, soft-bodied larvae renowned for their high-fat content, making them a highly desirable treat for a variety of animals, including reptiles, birds, and fish. These creamy-white larvae are particularly attractive to fish as bait due to their enticing wriggle and durability on the hook, making them a favorite among anglers, especially for species like trout, panfish, perch, bass, and catfish. Beyond their appeal as fishing bait, wax worms also provide valuable nutrition for insectivorous pets, offering a good source of protein and fat necessary for their growth and vitality. Wax worms are easy to store and care for, requiring no feeding as they are in the final larval stage and live off their fat reserves. They are best kept at a cool temperature, ideally between 55-60°F, to prolong their dormant state and prevent early pupation into moths. While easy to feed to pets or put on a hook for bait, remember to handle them gently to maintain their liveliness.
