Scratch & Peck Grower Grit Supplement For Chickens & Ducks - 7lb Bag

Grower Grit is perfect for your mid-sized birds, whether they’re still growing or not. Birds lack that great grind we get with teeth, so they need some mechanism to break down food. Grit in the gizzard is how our feathered friends “chew.” The key is matching the correct grit size to the size of your birds. Think Goldilocks, not too big and not too small. Just right.

Why do chickens and ducks need grit?

Chickens and ducks require grit to digest their food properly since they don’t have teeth! Their food collects in the gizzard, and the grit acts as a grinding agent to break food down and prepare it for digestion.
