Secret of the Eighteen Iron Buddhas: Iron Palm Training & Fighting Applications (Treasure of Chinatown)

Just beneath the veneer of the tourist trap known as Chinatown NYC, disguised by the many curio shops, teahouses, restaurants and street hawkers selling anything from counterfeit handbags to sunglasses to fruit, the secret world of Kung Fu is hidden. In basements or on upper floors of cramped railroad apartments lived old masters of Kung Fu who immigrated here and brought their art with them, never intending to reveal or share their secret. Luckily, a few masters had open minds and kind hearts and opened the door to allow non-Chinese of all creeds and colors to become part of their heritage.Master Paul Koh, in this groundbreaking text, shares knowledge and techniques from many of the masters that he has met and learned from over the past four decades. Much of the text is dedicated to step-by-step instructions and illustrations of the 18 Iron Buddha Palm Form, followed by an extensive chapter on applications of the Iron Buddha Palm techniques shot on location in Chinatown NYC. This volume also includes many exercises that the student can use to develop their iron palm, including development of the iron bridge, iron sandbag training on both a stationary and hanging bag, and a chapter dedicated to breaking. 200 pages, full color illustrations.
