The Rival 1 BB30 Crankset is the centerpiece of the group and turns your pedaling into the forward movement with precise aluminum construction and outstanding chain retention.

With SRAM's commitment to 1x, it's been producing wide range cassettes and rear derailleurs that allow for the gearing possible with only one ring. When the crossover, repetitive gear choices are removed from a 2x setup, the gearing options become very similar to 1x. We've seen pro's riding with single chainrings for TT and Tri's and with the likes of Team Aqua Blue fully committed to running 1x for the entire road season, we think the changing tides are sure to hit the shores amongst serious cyclist on the tarmac.

SRAM constructs its crank arms from forged aluminum allowing for efficient power transfer at a price point that's way friendlier than its carbon fiber offerings. The narrow/wide teeth are the hallmark design allowing 1x drivetrains to exist without some form of additional chain retention device. It features alternating, regular teeth with squared-off profile teeth that capture the chain's inner plates improving chain stability and retention. For gravel and 'cross cyclists, SRAM wisely includes recesses that help clear mud when it's messy out.
